Martial Artisan and Gentleman Warrior
Sensei-tional…
Peter Zarb is described by fellow karate experts as:
“A thinking gentleman warrior - highly trained, unassuming, accommodating and friendly. It is rare to find people of the younger generation who are as knowledgeable about true martial arts as Pete.”
“He is terrific with children, just stepping into their martial journey - and invaluable to seniors who desire to learn the finer points of form. When it comes to applications, there are few people who are as informative and innovative as Peter”.
Peter’s training under renowned masters in Australia, Japan and Taiwan has helped mould him into the natural and skilled instructor he is today. He has been studying karate since he was a young boy and teaching for over 20 years. Peter has spent decades researching and supplementing his training experience with complimentary and influential combat arts, including judo, internal kung fu and jujutsu.
He is a generous, outgoing and knowledgeable instructor whose humorous, easy going attitude spreads throughout the dojo. But do not be fooled, you will train very hard with him.
If you want to study the art of traditional, functional karatedo, look no further.
A word from our principal
I have always had a passion for youth development and the combat arts. I was greatly inspired in my youth at how gentle and yet powerful the seniors of our karate academy were. It seemed they could balance both nurture and torture as they guided me to be my best me. It has been my ambition to become a similar guide for young people of today.
In 2019 I was offered a professional opportunity to make a real difference to regional young people by developing and delivering a government funded pilot after school activities program. Its focus was to promote community engagement and reduce risky behaviour. Inspired by the program’s success and the positive impact on local families, I have created and innovated many programs and special events with our sunny coast communities in mind. I will be presenting a range of activities to engage with our local young people, including:
youth artisan workshops
specialised well-being programs
skill building for life
social gatherings
games and so much more.
[All inspired by the wonderful guiding principles and philosophies of karate of course!]
All our activities are structured to offer each participant a safe and positive learning environment with challenging and rewarding exercises. Karate Community proudly offers a healthy blend of fitness, fun and empowerment to all.
