Upgrades
Congratulations to everyone who attended Grading Day on Sunday the 20th June. What a great turn out and vibe from everyone who was being assessed for promotion or others who trained in support. We have such a great Community!
A special mention to Stephanie Raven who was promoted to 1st Dan Black Belt. - the first for us in Queensland! Steph has been training diligently with Sensei Peter for nearly 10 years, and has been a regular assistant instructor since 2020. I think we can all agree, her performance was ‘electric’!

Both pieces will be showcased at our dojo at every class because we are soo proud of them. The winners receive a Karate Community Tshirt each.
Term 3 training schedule:
A small change to our Cooroy Dojo training schedule -
Our Prep program will commence at 3:15 (5 minutes later), allowing those coming from afar more time to get to the Dojo.
Our junior and Young Adult program will be combined into one class, commencing at 3:45pm.
We will be adding an additional 30 minutes to the combined program above exclusively for Young Adult students. See the below training schedule for more information on training times.
The combination of the classes will offer the opportunity for our young adults to step into leadership roles while training and learning, and the additional 30 minutes will be dedicated to them exclusively. There will be no additional charge for the young adults who will be able to train for 90 minutes under this new schedule.
There are NO changes to our Eumundi Dojo training schedule!

* Ages are a guide only. Student's ability and skill level will be assessed to ensure they are allocated to a class best suited to their individual needs.

Covid and the Dojo
In addition to the hospitality sector, from 1am Friday 9 July, the Check In Qld app will be mandatory for a number of new sectors, including our community karate dojo.
We’re using the new Check In Qld app to help keep you COVID safe the next time you visit.
All you need to do is:
download the app www.covid19.qld.gov.au/check-in-qld
enter your details once
open the app when you next visit us
select ‘Check in Now’ and hover your smartphone over our QR code
Done!
You will find our QR code poster at the entrance of the dojo. Please check in all students and spectators upon entry. We appreciate your understanding
Growth
We were recently invited to join an organisation of like-minded Karate Enthusiasts, and have grown our karate community!
In addition to our affiliations will Goju Ryu Kakurin Kan Karate-do (AUS) and Goju Ryu Etsukoukai Karate-do (JPN), we are now members of the Australasian Federation of Traditional Karate & Kobudo AFTK.
The purpose of the AFTK is to promote traditional karate and kobudo (weaponry) throughout Australasia. The AFTK focuses on ethics, technical seminars, workshops and all that is necessary to promote the spread of karate and kobudo in Australasia and to promote friendly beneficial relations between AFTK members.
We are excited to meet new people, learn and share our experiences.

White KC Tees - These can be worn as an alternative to our classical karate uniform tops in the hotter weather. Towards the summer, tank-tops and singlets will become available. NOTE: you full karate-gi will be required for any upgrade or special guest instructor event.

Black KC Hoodie - Winter weather personal protection. It’s like wearing karate!
